Two Ceremonies for Stefani and Alec

Stefani and Alec had their wedding planned – and their marriage license purchased – when an unexpected illness meant they had to reschedule. Because their license would expire before the new date they had two choices: Purchase another license, or have a simple elopement ceremony followed by a larger celebration at a later date.

Elopement Ceremony

They chose to have an elopement ceremony at a local park. Because a ceremony script had already been written and approved, we used a small portion of it for the elopement.

We began with a reading they had chosen. They then said their “I do’s” and exchanged wedding rings, and sealed the deal with a kiss!

I had asked a friend to come with me to be the witness, and the Marriage License was signed and filed before it expired. Whew!

Wedding Ceremony

Two months later Stefani and Alec hosted their family and very dearest friends for a simple wedding ceremony and reception.

Held lakeside under an arch, they once again said “I do” and exchanged rings. They also repeated vows to each other, two beautiful readings were presented, and they happily kissed again as newlyweds!

Acknowledging the importance of their community, I asked: “Family and friends, do you promise to support the happiness and success of Alec and Stefani’s union through the highs and lows of their life together?” And the guests responded with a resounding “We Do!”

Taco Bar Reception

Their reception was held inside Greenstone Country Barn, which offered a cool respite from the Sacramento Valley heat.

Stefani and Alec are foodies – they’re working on a soon-to-be-launched blog – and they were excited to have Zoe Coffee and Tacos cater their reception! The food was delicious!

Mindful of their vegan and gluten-free guests, food and cupcake cake options were available to meet those needs.

Reception Photos

A dear friend had initially agreed to take wedding photos. However, the date change conflicted with his wife’s due date, so Stefani asked a family member to step in and take photos.

Knowing that I would be bringing my camera [see note below] I offered to be the backup photographer during the reception. And since the main photographer had a young child who periodically needed attention, she was happy to share the responsibility.

Bubbles were provided so that the guests – of all ages! – could shower the newlyweds with bubbles of good wishes during the dancing! Two-photo collage of young boy and adult females blowing bubbles during wedding reception.

Congratulations, Alec and Stefani! You truly are Lucky in Love, and I’m already looking forward to your renewal of vows in 2024!

Did you know?

I generally take a few detail shots in order to create a special card for the couple’s first wedding anniversary. Plus, I love to share on my Facebook and Instagram pages!

(However, if a couple has specifically asked me not to post photos online I don’t. And we cross out that paragraph in the Contract.)
